Neighborhood Spotlight: Amberly

The Triangle Area of North Carolina is nationally renowned as one of the best places to live and work in the country. Nestled in its heart, the town of Cary has been named the “hottest town in the East” by Money Magazine and is ranked in the magazine’s top six towns nationwide.

Cary is a pioneer of master planned communities, having planned the illustrious Amberly neighborhood in 1995. Today, the community boasts over 1,100 acres of space and 2,500 built homes. Amberly has room to double the amount of homes available in coming years as well, growing and thriving as more people flock to the area.

Location, Location, Location

Among the many draws to Amberly is the neighborhood’s proximity to RDU airport. Your new home is only about a 12-minute drive to your next business flight! It’s also near to Research Triangle Park (only about a mile away from the famed area’s border). Other places that are roughly 20 minutes or less away include:

  • NC State University
  • Duke University
  • UNC-Chapel Hill
  • Downtown Durham
  • Downtown Raleigh

There’s a reason West Cary, where Amberly is located, is known as arguably the most convenient spot in the county.

Amberly Amenities

Amberly is home to a huge offering of amenities, including dedicated communities to fit your needs. There is also a large lake (fully 16 acres!), two swimming pools, a clubhouse for residents, a gym, trails for walking and hiking, and more. If you have kids, though, the highlight is probably going to be the water slide.

Schools

There are several good schools in the area, including Hortons Creek, Panther Creek High School, and Mills Park Middle. While these base schools offer high quality education, they are capped schools. This means additional children in the area are moved to overflow schools. Even though these are also good schools, some parents may balk at the notion that their children will go to different schools than their neighbors.

Additionally, plans for new schools are in the works, which should mean some changes to school caps.

Pricing

Depending on which area of Amberly suits your fancy, you can expect homes to range in price from the $500,000s to around $1,00,0000. With the job market in the area and the quality of the neighborhood, your new home is well worth the price.
